Northern Territory Government Gazette No. G32, 10 August 2022 Page 6 (v) 5.50 am to 7.30 pm on each day in the period starting on 1 January 2023 and ending on 10 January 2023. 3 The area within which an animal of a designated species may be killed is the whole of the Territory except for the following areas: (a) a park, reserve, sanctuary or wilderness zone under the Act; (b) any area where, under a law in force in the Territory, the discharging of a firearm, as defined in section 3(1) of the Firearms Act 1997, is prohibited. 4 An animal of a designated species may be killed only with the following type of equipment: (a) a shotgun of not more than size 10 gauge and not less than size 20 gauge; (b) if the animal is of a species of protected wildlife specified in Part A: (i) shot cartridges containing non-toxic shot; and (ii) if the shot is steel shot not smaller than size No. 2 and not larger than size BBB; and (iii) if the shot is other than steel shot not smaller than No. 4 and not larger than size BBB; (c) if the animal is of a species of protected wildlife specified in Part B: (i) shot cartridges containing non-toxic shot; and (ii) if the shot is steel shot not smaller than size No. 6 and not larger than size BB; and (iii) if the shot is other than steel shot not smaller than No. 6 and not larger than size No. 1; (d) a bow (excluding a crossbow) and arrow. 5 The maximum number of animals a person may kill each day is: (a) 7 animals of the species of protected wildlife specified in Part A; and
