Abstract

The Northern Territory Government has a large collection of aerial photograph imagery taken from the 1930s to present day. The collection has grown as the Government commissioned aerial photography projects for different purposes over time. The photographs cover locations where there is settlement and urbanisation (cities, towns, and communities), infrastructure (highways, dams and mines) and areas of environmental interest (National Parks and reserves). Library & Archives NT (LANT) hold hard copy photograph prints for photographs up to the year 2008. Aerial photos from 2008 to the present are in digital format held by the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics, Land Information branch. The Land Information branch is progressively digitising the earlier photographs.,
