Public Works Department Cottage opposite the Bond Store near the Railway Station, c1918. Left to right: Kitchen, wash house, bathroom and 2 rooms of the cottage. Room doors are in 3 parts, top half in 2 parts and bottom half in single piece. Water tank at right.,
Information from the back of the postcard: This is not a good photo because it was late at noon when I look it and the sun is on the other side of the house but it shows the back part of the cottage and the 2 rooms of the house, the bath room is at the end of the veranher and the bath room door is open., the latticed space is for the wash house and the barrell is standing by the kitchen window. I have to-day cut this barrell in half for a wash tub and the smaller one is make a rubbish bin. You will see that the doors leading out of the rooms are made in 3 parts the bottom half being in 1 piece and the top half in 2 casements (From John Adams in Darwin c 1918),
