Abstract
This project aims to implement the recommendations of Noovao and Spencer (2018). It aims to clarify and understand groundwater movement and groundwater use within the Palmerston dolostone aquifer. It also aims to identify saline intrusion before it becomes a serious issue for the aquifer and its users. This will allow the shared resource to be managed effectively.
The above aim will be met by:
1. Re-establishment of groundwater monitoring network - monitoring bore rehabilitation and new bore drilling
2. Creation and implementation of monitoring program
3. Collation of water use volumes, obtained from major water users
4. Update of the groundwater model
5. Groundwater investigation including a report, providing recommendations for future work for sustainable use of the aquifer
6. Meetings with stakeholders to present findings and ongoing work,
