Servicemen diving into a section of Rapid Creek known as 'Yankee Pools' which is located between Marrara and Darwin International Airport. Handwriting on back of photo:Department of air NW 300 swimmers diving into creek. It was generally considered safer to swim in a water-hole inland, than in Darwin Harbour, because of crocodiles and other marine hazards. From such an angle, identification would be difficult! Photo is marked Approved for Publication .,
